Hentons Corporate Finance, a leading firm in the field of M&A, and a joint venture with Hentons Chartered Accountants, hosted a charity crown green bowling competition to raise funds and awareness for The Archer Project, an initiative supporting homeless and vulnerable individuals in the local community.
The Archer Project is committed to helping homeless people improve their lives by fostering independence, resilience in the face of setbacks, positive behaviour change, and overall well-being enhancement.
The charity competition involved close to thirty local companies taking part in the heats during the spring/summer in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere. This culminated in a final showdown occurring on Thursday, September 7th, 2023, at Nether Edge Bowling Club, where teams battled for first place on the green.
Finalists included Maxim Recovery, Hawsons Chartered Accountants, The Archer Project, Virgin Money, and Mercia Asset Management. The event drew enthusiastic participation and support from these companies, contributing to a successful and engaging day for all involved.
Andy Tyas, Investment Manager at Mercia Asset Management, the overall winner of the competition, said “Mercia were delighted to take part in this series of events over the summer which have raised both the awareness of and funding for The Archer Project support those in need in our local community. The bowling itself was most enjoyable, coming to grips with the green whilst ducking around the hovering drone, and we were delighted to shade a competitive final and look forward to coming back next year to defend our trophy.”
